The first and the most important step in building your custom home is to find the right house plan for your lifestyle and for the lot the house will be built on. You can choose from our plans or if you already have a house plan you like from somewhere else let us know. Our builder will be happy to review it with you and provide an estimated cost to build that plan. You will also be able to discuss financial options with your builder.
Once you narrowed down on one or two plans, You can discuss any changes you want to make with your builder, such as moving walls, adding windows or doors, porch or sunroom. With Prominent Homes anything is possible. Want to redesign the Kitchen? No problem. We will gladly incorporate any changes you choose along with all site improvements in your cost. Site improvements include, water meter or well installation, sewer, septic, foundation type and driveway. Also this is the point you choose your interior and exterior finishes. This is the time when your builder can give you a set price for your plans.
Now that you choose your final plan, it is time for final touches for the agreement to be evaluated and perfected. Our Builder will go with you over final drawings of the plan, over material list, all required site improvements, locate the house and driveway. The Home Building Agreement consists of four key parts: final Home Plan drawings, Material Features, Cost Estimate for the whole project and the Agreement papers. If you are in agreement, the drafting of your dream home can now begin.
All the planning and drawings are ready, and now it is time to apply for construction and permanent financing. You may choose to arrange for your own financing. If so we will be happy to provide our information for your bank. Or, like we helped our customers in the past, we can help you find lenders that are competitive in interest rates and closing costs.
